Former 1980s Windsor Academy math instructor, football coach, and baseball coach Steve Dennis retired after eight years as Director of Athletics at Troy University. Former 1970s/1980s Windsor elementary 2nd grade teacher Bonnie Stewart taught for 21 years (37 overall) at Frederica Academy in St Simons Island. She was a Lower Grade Principal/3rd garde teacher and retired from Frederica Academy as of this year. She is enjoying her first grandchild, Sofia Luciana Stewart (born Dec 14, 2011) and plans on taking the time to be a Grandmother. Former 1970s Windsor Art Teacher Guy D. Seredick has been teaching Art at Miller Middle School in Macon, GA. He has been teaching since 1975. Guy Seredick has retired from Bibb County with 29 years in Bibb (39 total).

Windsor (18-13) beat Crisp 7-5 but lost to Thomas Jefferson 8-0 and to Flint River 6-1 in the GISA AA State FINAL FOUR tourney. Round 2 Results – Game 1 Final: CCA 12, Lady Knights 8; Game 2 Final: Lady Knights 6, CCA 4; Game 3 Final: Lady Knights 18, CCA 11; Round 1 Results – Game 1 Final: Lady Knights 8, Westwood Lady Cats 1; Game 2 Final: Lady Knights 13, Westwood Lady Cats 9; The Windsor Lady Knights (6-2 Region) lost to AAA Stratford and Southwest GA to close out the season. The team beat GISA 4AA Lagrange 11-2 and Trinity 4-3 but lost to Region Champion Flint River 9-1. Windsor beat CFCA 5-1 and Piedmont 4-2. The team also beat GISA 4AA Lagrange 13-5 behind the pitching of Holly Phillips and the hitting of Madison O-Neal (2-for-3). The Lady Knights lost 9-8 in extra innings to the Greater Gwinnett Lady Barons. Windsor was shut out by Flint River 8-0 and lost a close game to Stratford 5-2. The Lady Knights stopped GISA 4AA rivals Piedmont by the score of 11-3 at Monticello and Central Fellowship by the score of 11-1 at CFCA. The Lady Knights are ranked 3rd in the latest State GISA ‘AA’ Coaches Poll. The team also beat ‘AAA’ Southland Lady Raiders 7-4 in GISA Fast-Pitch Softball action at Windsor. Holly Phillips (1-0) was the winning pitcher with a save by Miranda Busbee. Kayley Sadler went 3-for-3, Skye McKinney went 2-for-2, and Hannah Griffin went 2-for-3.
Jason Blankenship has joined our Windsor staff. Jason is the Youth Director at First Evangelical Church and will be teaching Bible as an elective for high school students and also conducting “Chapel” on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Chapel will include guest speakers and music. We are happy to see the amount of response in the students wishing to take Bible this coming year and look forward to having Jason on staff. Jason was already a member of the Windsor family by having his daughter, Kaylee, enrolled in our 3rd grade and he is married to Tiffany Matheny Blankenship, a 1995 Windsor graduate. Stan C. Newberry, Windsor Class of 1978 and a member of the Senior Executive Service, is now the Director, Air Force C2 Integration Center (AFC2IC), Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Mr. Newberry’s role is to manage, integrate and improve Air Force command and control. His responsibilities include planning, programming, guiding Air Force requirements definition and architecture development, integration and standardization effort for warfighting aerial networks, combat support and C2 systems. He was an All-State member of the ’78 State Champion Baseball Team. Jason Williams Aldean, Class of 1995, won Male Vocalist of the Year at the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, honoring country music’s best and introducing the industry’s hottest emerging talent. Congrats to Jason! He also performed as a Favorite Country Artist nominee at the 2013 People’s Choice Award show on Wednesday, Jan 9th on the CBS Network. Jason missed another shot at the New Artist of the Year by the Country Music Association (CMA). The Association of 6,000 members selected Lady Antebellum. The competition included Rodney Atkins, James Otto, and Kellie Pickler. Jason is always No. 1 at Windsor!
Jason also rocked the Reaves Arena in October with a sold-out concert at the Georgia National Fair. Jason mentioned Windsor during his concert. He completed 2008 tour dates as the opening act for Tim McGraw.
Jason performed “Johnny Cash” at the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards in Nashville on the ABC Network. Taylor Swift took home the Horizon Award trophy for Best New Artist against Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Little Big Town, and Kellie Pickler.

Jason’s albums include 2005’s Jason Aldean and 2007’s Relentless, which have been certified platinum and gold, respectively with the independent label Broken Bow Records. CONGRATULATIONS to Jason Aldean and his wife, Jessica, on the birth of their second daughter, Kendyl, on Monday, August 20th, 2007.
According to the CMT website, Jason’s second album, Relentless, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country chart, and sold more than 98,000 copies in its first week. The album features “Johnny Cash” and also “Grown Woman,” a duet with country star Miranda Lambert.
Jason performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and at the CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.
The recording artist and writer received the award for Top New Male Vocalist at the 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards (CMA). He also actively supports the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to honor one of his friends who died from the disease. He will be touring with Rascal Flatts during the 2007 summer and fall season.
