Tori Pitts and Kayla Aber Take Top Distinctive Academic Awards

-Windsor’s Tori Pitts was recognized by Parrish Jenkins with over $75,000 in Hope & additional college scholarships to attend Macon’s Wesleyan College. She also received the Junior Civitan Award. Valedictorian Kayla Aber was recognized by Deidra Bauld with over $68,000 in Hope & additional college scholarships to attend Macon’s Mercer University. The Angela K. Sherling Scholarship (in memory of Windsor’s first headmistress) of $500 was awarded to Ashley Weiche. The Presbyterian Jr. Fellow with a $2,000 scholarship went to Storm Murray. The Trevor Kelly Scholarship went to Kara Douglas. The DAR Citizenship Award was presented to Kalen Thomas. DUKE Tip Scholars were Von Almand and Ethan McCrane. The Congressional Art Award (People’s Choice) went to Jessie Kyle and his art work will be displayed in the offices of Georgia Congressman Austin Scott for one year. The Teacher Excellence Award in memory of Mrs. Pope was presented to HS Science instructor Ashley Bentley. Golden Eagle Nominee for Athletics and Salutatorian Greg Thomas Jr. was also recognized. Windsor students highlighted for Dual Enrollment and ‘A’ averages in local college courses: Tori Pitts, Kayla Aber, Hannah Fisher, and Storm Murray. Congratulations and may God bless you all!


GISA “AA” State Baseball Final: Brentwood 2, Windsor 1 (8 Innings)

-Windsor (11-15, 7-4) dropped the second game 2-1 in eight innings and the series against defending GISA ‘AA’ State Champion Brentwood School Eagles in Sandersville, GA in Round 1 of the state playoffs. The game was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the seventh when the Knights failed to score with the bases loaded and one out.  Windsor lost 5-3 in the first game. That game was tied 3-3 until the bottom of the sixth inning. We will miss our Senior Athletes on the Diamond: Dylan Smith, Greg Thomas, Jason Hildebrand, and Rudy Rewis. Baseball Final: Windsor 16, Covenant 1

-Windsor (11-13, 7-4) nearly shut out Covenant by the score of 16-1.  The Knights later played CFCA in a one-game playoff to determine the second seed from GISA 1AA. The CFCA Lancers slipped past the Knights 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh. Windsor will take the No. 3 seed and play defending GISA ‘AA’ State Champion Brentwood School Eagles in Sandersville, GA in Round 1 of the state playoffs.


Baseball FINAL: Windsor 3, Gatewood 0

-Windsor (10-11, 6-3) shut out No. 1 ranked Gatewood by the score of 3-0. Austin Thomas was the winning pitcher with 13 strikeouts. It was the first 1AA region loss for the Gators. The Knights also shut out Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School (MDCHS) Rams of Athens by the score of 6-0 in GISA 1AA action. The Knights beat Briarwood 16-1. Last weekend, defending GISA ‘AA’ State Champion Brentwood School Eagles stopped the Knights 11-3 at Windsor.
