-The Diamond Knights (20-8-1, 6-2) were swept by the Piedmont Cougars 4-0 and 9-7 in the GISA ‘AA’ State Baseball Championship. Sophomore Jonathan Osborn slammed a three run homer in the seventh that was not enough as Tyler Brown and Rusty Combs coached their last game for Windsor. We wish our Seniors the very best: Wesley Arrington, Seth Elder, Dylan Bass, Austin Thomas, Kalen Whiting, Travis Cumbie, and William Owenby. The Knights shocked No.1 Robert Toombs with a 15-4 and 4-0 sweep last week. Travis Cumbie slammed a homerun in that game. Windsor also beat Crisp with scores of 12-11 and 11-2. Windsor shut out the Brandon Hall Panthers with a 17-2 and 17-0 sweep in Round 1. Windsor beat the Westfield Hornets 8-3 in Perry, GA and stopped Crisp 4-1 behind the pitching of William Owenby (3-1). Windsor and John Milledge tied 6-6 in a rain-shortened game and lost to Piedmont 10-5 in Monticello. The team shut-out Briarwood 11-0 in Warrenton. William Owenby hit a homerun. Windsor beat Monsignor Donovan 9-4 at Windsor. The team also beat Trinity Christian 9-5 in Dublin. Windsor slipped past the Central GA Athletics 3-2 at historic Luther Williams Field in Macon. The Knights shut out GISA ‘4AA’ Brentwood 1-0 and whipped Covenant 16-5 at Windsor. Windsor also beat Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School 19-13 in Athens. The Knights beat the Brentwood Eagles by the score of 12-5 in Sandersville. Winning pitcher was Austin Thomas. The team lost to ‘AAA’ Southland 8-1 but beat the Westfield Hornets 16-4. Windsor also beat the Fullington Trojans 7-3 at Windsor before the break. Windsor lost to GISA 4AA Piedmont 11-1 at Windsor and lost to ‘AAA’ John Milledge 3-1 in Milledgeville. The Knights shut out the Briarwood Bucs 11-0 in GISA 4AA varsity baseball action. Windsor lost to Trinity Christian Dublin by the score of 7-3 in 8 innings despite shut out pitching thru four innings including a homerun by Jonathan Osborn. The Knights lost to CGA in rainy conditions at Windsor but beat the Crisp Academy Wildcats in the season-opener by the score of 5-1 in Cordele, GA.
Windsor grad Brennan Collins (Class of 2015) was recognized by the National Football Federation as Citizen Scholar Athlete of the Year! Proud parents are Susan and Kelvin Collins. His brother Brad, Windsor Class of 2012, received the same honor during his Senior year.
Windsor’s commencement ceremony honored Windsor’s 2015 graduating senior class. Amber Storm Murray** and Mikayla Anne Chin** provided the Co-Valedictorian address. Guest speaker was Mr. Bob Alexander, President of The Alexander Resource Group. Bob was a member of the Zig Ziglar motivational team as Director of Educational Services and continues as a nationally known speaker and trainer under The Alexander Resource Group. Ann Haines was the guest pianist. Ann has performed with various symphonies and is a staff member of the St Andrew Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Macon.

-Windsor’s Co-Valedictorian Storm Murray was recognized by Jennifer Eadie with the Wesleyan Humanities Award including Hope & additional college scholarships to attend Macon’s Wesleyan College. She also received the Junior Civitan Award. Co-Valedictorian Mikayla Chin was recognized by Emory Dunn with the Merit Scholarship to attend Macon’s Mercer University. The Angela K. Sherling Scholarship (in memory of Windsor’s first headmistress) of $500 was awarded to Taylor Lewis. The Presbyterian Jr. Fellow with a $2,000 scholarship went to Evan Grant. The Trevor Kelly Scholarship went to Tyler Phillips . The DAR Citizenship Award was presented by Sandra Darby to Caleb Brown. DUKE Tip Scholar was Rachel Belflower. The 2015 Teacher Excellence Award was presented to Jessica Shepherd (First Grade Teacher) in memory of Mary McGaughey Pope.
