Windsor’s Jason Aldean (Class of 1995) received the top award of Entertainer of the Year at the 51st annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Male Vocalist of the Year went to Chris Stapleton. The ACM Awards were broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, Apr. 3, 2016.

Seniors William L.B. Jones and Josh Brooks represented Windsor at the 2016 Georgia Independent and South Carolina Independent School Associations All-Star game held at Augusta Prep. Michael Johnson was the Head Coach for the Georgia All-Stars. The GISA ‘AA’ team lost to the SCISA by the score of 100-86 with Jones scoring 12 points and Brooks scoring 2 points.

The 2016 GISA Region 4AA Champion Windsor Knights (26-3, 10-0) erased a huge second-half deficit but ran out of time and fell short of playing for a second straight state championship with a 78-65 loss to First Presbyterian Christian School in the GISA Class AA semifinals Thursday at Mercer University’s Hawkins Arena. We will miss our Seniors LB Jones and Josh Brooks. The team beat Citizen’s Christian with a 68-39 win to reach the 2016 GISA ‘AA’ Elite 8 and then whipped the Crisp Academy Wildcats at Windsor by the score of 79-57 to reach the Final Four.
The Twiggs Academy Lady Trojans slipped past the 2016 GISA Region 4AA Runner-up Windsor Lady Knights (13-14, 5-5) by the score of 57-53 at Flint River in Woodbury. Congrats to Head Coach Candice “CJ” Johnson and Assistant Coach Samantha Maddox Cooling for a great year! We will miss our Seniors Kaley Sadler and Lauren O’Quinn!
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program, an initiative of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, is mostly based on the highest three-part SAT score in a single sitting from a student at one of Bibb County’s public and private high schools. There also is a class-ranking requirement. Each school winner selected his or her STAR teacher. Congrats!
The Windsor Knights (24-2, 10-0) captured back to back Region 4AA Championships with a 70-49 win over Monsignor Donovan. The Knights reached the finals with a 78-26 win over Piedmont. The Knights beat Piedmont 84-46 to end the season and GISA AAA John Milledge 63-60. The team also beat Monsignor Donovan 106-54, Griffin High 83-30, Brentwood School 68-23, and Citizens Christian 79-66. The team whipped the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers 85-59, the Briarwood Bucs 84-50, and the Piedmont Academy Cougars by the score of 89-66. Marquise Jackson scored 43 points and Landry Rustin added 15. Windsor also beat the Brentwood School Eagles 90-52. The team beat Brairwood by the score of 90-42, Trinity Christian 95-53 and Covenant 86-74. Windsor held off GISA 4AA rival Monsignor Donovan Rams 53-51 in a re-match of last year’s GISA ‘AA’ State Championship. The team also beat Pinewood 80-63. Windsor lost to the Furtah Prep Falcons (18-0) by the score of 80-67. Windsor whipped Twiggs Academy 85-33 before the Christmas break. The team also beat First Presbyterian Christian Academy (FPCA) 63-46 in the Coaches Against Cancer Tourney at Robert Toombs. The Knights beat Citizen’s Christian Academy by the score of 75-44 and beat Central Fellowship by the score of 72-60. The Lady Knights (13-13, 5-5) lost 44-38 in the GISA 4AA Championship to Monsignor Donovan. The team reached the final by defeating the Brentwood Lady Eagles 78-62. A’Maiya Jackson had 32 points and Kaley Sadler added 15. Windsor beat Piedmont 47-41 and beat Griffin High 66-20 in the final games of the regular season. The team lost to John Milledge and to Brentwood 41-31, beat Citizens Christian, and lost to the CFCA Lady Lancers. The team beat the Briarwood Lady Bucs 67-52 and the Piedmont Lady Cougars 39-35 . A’Maiya Jackson scored 22 points against the Bucs and 16 points against the Cougars. The Lady Knights lost to the Brentwood School Lady Eagles 86-65. The team also beat the Briarwood Lady Bucs 64-56, lost 58-44 to Trinity Christian but beat Covenant 63-54. The team lost to the MDCHS Lady Rams and to the Pinewood Lady Patriots. Windsor beat the Furtah Prep Lady Falcons by the score of 71-11. Windsor beat Twiggs Academy 53-23. The team lost 60-34 to Robert Toombs in the Coaches Against Cancer Tourney and lost 59-55 in the final minutes to CCA with scoring as follows: Kassidy Hulett 8, A’Maiya Jackson 24, Lauren O’Quinn 6, Skye McKinney 1, Hailey Mosley 6, and Kaley Sadler 10. The Lady Knights beat CFCA by the score of 55-34. Scoring against CFCA: Sydney Weiche 6, Kassidy Hulett 13, A’Maiya Jackson 22, Lauren O’Quinn 6, Skye McKinney 3, Hailey Mosley 2, Kaley Sadler 3.
