The Resource Center at Windsor Academy gives students with Learning Disabilities a chance to succeed.

Windsor Academy has developed a unique program in order to better serve its students. The Resource Center was designed to assist students, in a private school setting, with learning disabilities, attention deficit and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, dyslexia, and developmentally delayed disorders.

The Resource Center believes that every student should have the opportunity to become the very best person possible. For the child with a learning disability, this is difficult without proper intervention.

Providing special assistance to students who need supplemental instruction and helping them with regular coursework is the focus of the Resource Center.

The non-graded program gives practical advice and guidance in learning skills such as effective not taking, problem solving, and testing. In addition to proper academic assistance, the students receive one-on-one counseling to help with physical skills, peer interaction, and self-esteem.

The Resource Center director coordinates lessons and assignments with the regular classroom teachers to ensure each student reaches his/her full potential. An individual education program is written for every student. All students enrolled in the center have an equal opportunity to receive any honor or school awards offered during the school year.

The purpose of the Resource Center is to assist and guide the student toward:
  • attaining annual goals
  • being involved and progressing in the general curriculum
  • participating in extracurricular and other nonacademic activities
  • being educated and participating with other students, with and without disabilities
